Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at these Diode Dynamics SS5 sport LED combo pod lights with brackets. Now these five inch LED combo pod lights are going to be great for helping you see near and far, and they're going to give you bright light with reduced glare for improved visibility and safety. Now as you can see, I have this light connected to my power source already, and what you're currently seeing is one of my favorite features of these lights. It's the backlight, but more on that in the next moment or so, I also have this light installed on one of the brackets that's going to be included with this kit. And these brackets are going to allow you to easily install these lights virtually anywhere on your vehicle.

And they do include the hardware that you're going to need to install the light into the bracket. And then when you have the light in the bracket, that's going to allow you to easily adjust the angle that you want and then you'll just tighten down the hardware on each of those on each side of the brackets to hold that angle. And then you'll get the hardware to install the bracket with the light on your vehicle. The brackets are constructed of durable aluminum, so they we inchesre going to hold up really well for you. And let me go ahead and get my, one of my wires here that I lost so I can go over some of the other features of these lights.

So I'm gonna go ahead and shut my studio lights off here and zoom back out just so you can see what that amber back light's gonna look like in low light or dark conditions. Again, it's gonna look great. It's going to do a great job of adding a stylish touch to your vehicle or give you a little bit of extra visibility when you're not using that main beam. Now speaking of that main beam, let me fire that up so you can see the difference between the backlight and then the main beam. And so let me see if I can turn this to the wall behind me just so you can get a good look at that beam.

That combo pattern is a mix between a driving beam and a flood beam. So this light is really gonna be great for general all around use. And this light has a color temperature of 3,000 kelvin. So that yellow color is gonna be great for bad weather like rain or fog. And this has a raw lumen rating of 4,800 lumens and a measured lumen rating of 3,700 lumens.

Again, even with my bright studio lights on, you can still see that beam pattern and that light turn this back around so you can see. So you see the beam there and then the backlight and going back into for a closeup, these lights have a peak beam intensity of 71,200 candela. In case you don't know, candela ratings measure the directional light output and it's how anything is rated where you want light shining in a specific direction. Lumen ratings are just for omnidirectional output, like your regular bulbs where you want light shining in all directions. Now the power draw on that main beam is 2.8 amps, and on that backlight it's 0.24 amps. And these lights are designed with a newer technology known as custom TIR optics. TIR stands for total internal reflection. So unlike the older technology that uses reflectors or simple projector lenses, which aren't too efficient at focusing all the light where you want it, this custom design large TIR optic actually collects and then focuses all the light forward very efficiently. And then instead of having another external lens, certain lens patterns have been molded directly into this lens surface. So that's gonna prevent the normal efficiency loss you see with an outside lens. Typically when you shine light through any type of glass or plastic, you're going to lose up to 10% of that light from it just shining through. So by making it as a part of this lens, you're actually going to pick up some efficiency rather than lose it. Now this does include the industry standard integrated Deutsche style connector. So as you can see, this pigtail is going to plug right into the back of that light for easy installation. And while we're looking at the back of this light, I wanted to show you that this does include two breather patches. It's going to help prevent any moisture buildup. And then these heat sinks are gonna do a great job of dissipating heat quickly to increase the overall longevity of these lights. Now these lights have been built with high intensity LED chips and they do feature a durable powder coated aluminum construction. That heavy duty construction is gonna do a great job of withstanding extreme temperatures, vibrations, corrosion, testing has been completed to SAE standards, just like your factory lighting components on your car. And an interesting fact is that Diode Dynamics actually designed, engineered, and assembled these lights right down the highway from us at their headquarters here in the greater St. Louis area. So let's go over some measurements of these lights. Looking at the overall width from end to end, we're sitting pretty close to five and one eighth inches wide. That's gonna be the same measurement for our height as well. And then when you add it to the bracket, that's obviously going to increase the height. So from the top of the light to the base of our bracket, we're sitting pretty close to about five and a half inches depending on the angle of that light. And of course, one other thing I wanted to mention before moving on, the overall depth from the front of the light to the end of the heat sinks, we're sitting pretty close to two and three quarters inches deep. Now these lights do draw high current and they do require adequately sized wiring for safe operation. So if you're not using a Diode Dynamics wiring harness, you wanna be sure that you're using wiring that's 16 gauge or larger. Now we do offer a wide selection of lights from Diode Dynamics.
